Del Hammerlindl, regional manager of Wallace Construction Specialties, views ICF's, insulated concrete forms, in an extremely positive way. "Homes built with insulating concrete forms, where concrete is sandwiched between two insulating layers of foam, require quite a bit less energy to heat and cool. This can save the owner of an average sized home hundreds of dollars per year in utility costs. Concrete wall systems also reduce the risk associated with severe weather and they are are environmentally friendly. We are getting more and more calls from people who want to know that what they are doing will help preserve natural forests. And they realize that their use of ICF products and the accompanying energy efficiency reduces fuel consumption."
